A smile is the quickest way to recognise someone you know. A smile with no eyes above it is another story. In this guess the celebrity by their smile quiz you get a crop of the lips, mouth and chin, four names to choose from, and the answer with the full photo straight after.
How the smile quiz works
Every face shows only the lower part of a famous face. Pick the name you think fits, or press 1 to 4 on a keyboard. The full photo appears with the answer so you can see how close you were.
Quick answers earn more points, and a hint costs one. It works in any browser and you do not have to sign in.
Easy rounds show a generous crop of the mouth and chin. Hard and Insane pull in tighter, so you may only get a corner of a smile and a bit of jaw to go on.
Tips for guessing a celebrity by their lips or mouth
- Start with the lips. Fullness, the dip in the top lip and the way the corners turn are the biggest clues.
- Look at the teeth. Size, spacing and how much of them shows can be as personal as a signature.
- Find the chin. A cleft, a pointed chin or a single dimple can cut four names down to one.
- Check the lines. Smile lines give away age, and age rules out a lot of the options.
- Think about the grin. Some people smile wide and some barely move their mouth, so picture how each name actually smiles.
Why smiles are tricky
A smile changes from photo to photo more than you would think, and without the eyes there is less to hold on to. That is what makes this one a good test. If you get through it, try the eyes quiz and the nose quiz to see which feature you read best.
Keep an eye out for how a smile sits in the face. Some people smile with the whole mouth and some mostly on one side, and that habit is easier to spot than any single feature.
Questions people ask
Is there a guess the celebrity by their smile quiz with answers?
Yes. After each pick you see the right name and the full photo, so you always get the answer.
Can you guess a celebrity by their lips or mouth?
Sometimes. Lip shape, teeth and the chin do a lot of the work. Use Show more for a wider crop if you need it.
Is the smile quiz harder than the eyes quiz?
For most people, yes. Without the eyes you have fewer clues, so rounds with just a smile tend to catch people out.
Is the guess the celebrity smile game free?
Yes. It is free and works in your browser, with nothing to download.
Can I send a smile quiz to my friends?
Yes. Use the make page to build your own quiz from library faces and share the link.
