The short version. You can play without telling us anything. If you sign in, we keep your Google name, email and picture so your account works. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use outside ad networks that track you.
This policy explains what Guess the Celeb (“we”, “us”) collects when you use guesstheceleb.com, why, and what you can do about it. Guess the Celeb is run by [LEGAL NAME], [COUNTRY].
What we collect
If you play without an account: your progress, streak and theme are saved in your own browser. Our servers also keep standard logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time) to keep the site secure and working.
If you sign in with Google: your name, email address and profile picture from Google, plus the username and bio you choose.
Things you make or do: quizzes you publish, photos you upload for photo quizzes, comments, likes and votes, and your guesses and scores.
If you book an ad spot: the artwork, link and dates you send us. Payments are handled by [PAYMENT PROVIDER]. We never see or store your full card number.
How we use it
- To run the game, save your streak and show your scores on the leaderboard.
- To show your quizzes, comments and profile to other players.
- To stop spam, cheating and abuse, and to respond to removal requests.
- To understand which features people use so we can improve them.
We only email you about your account or ad bookings. No newsletters unless you ask for them.
Photo quizzes
You can upload a photo of yourself, or of someone who has clearly agreed, to build a photo quiz. You must be 13 or older, the photo must never show a minor, and it must never be used to harass anyone.
- The photo you upload is stored privately and is only used to build your quiz. It is never shown to other players.
- We delete the original photo within 24 hours of the job finishing.
- Photo quizzes are only reachable by their link. They never appear in feeds, search or our sitemap.
- You can delete any result or quiz at any time from the Me tab.
Ads
The ads on the desktop site are booked directly with us and shown by our own servers. We don’t use third party ad networks, and advertisers don’t receive your personal data. If you click an ad, you leave our site and the other site’s privacy policy applies.
Cookies and local storage
We use your browser’s local storage for things like your theme, streak and game progress. Google may set its own cookies when you use “Continue with Google”. We don’t use advertising cookies.
Where your data is kept
Our app and database are hosted on Railway. Uploaded images are stored with Amazon Web Services in the EU (Stockholm). Some of these providers may process data in other countries under standard contractual safeguards.
We keep account data until you delete your account. Server logs are deleted after [DAYS] days.
Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile at any time, delete any quiz or comment you posted, and delete your whole account from the Me tab. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you can also ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or object to how we use it. Email us and we will reply within 30 days.
Children
Guess the Celeb is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has made an account, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell signed in players on their next visit. The rules for what you can upload are in our Terms.
