How the eyes quiz works
Each round is a set of famous faces. For every face you see a narrow strip with a person’s eyes, sometimes with the brows or the bridge of the nose. Tap one of four names, or press 1 to 4 on a keyboard. The full photo shows up straight away along with the answer, so you always know whether you were right.
Faster answers earn more points. If you are stuck, the Show more button widens the crop for one point less. You do not need an account, and it works on a phone as well as a laptop.
Tips for guessing a celebrity by their eyes
- Look at the brows first. Their shape and thickness give away more than eye colour, which barely shows on a small crop.
- Check the lids. Heavy lids, a deep crease or a wide open stare are easy to remember once you spot them.
- Read the skin around the eyes. Lines, freckles and shadows tell you roughly how old the photo is.
- Cross out two names. Often a couple of the four options are the wrong age or the wrong look, which leaves a coin flip.
- Trust the first few seconds. After ten seconds the points drop, and so does your confidence.
Why it gets hard
Easy rounds use bigger crops and very well known faces. On Hard the crop gets tighter, and on Insane it is a thin sliver with double points. Plenty of people who breeze through Easy fall off a cliff on Hard.
